Since the COVID-19 crisis took hold in the United States in March, our top priority has been delivering a safe and successful 2020 NY NOW Summer Market. In recent days, and based on consultation with many of you, it has become clear that doing so will not be possible. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 NY NOW Summer Market, which had been scheduled for August 8-12 at the Javits Center in New York City.
As a show organizer, it is our role to bring buyers and brands together safely in a spirit of discovery and unity. With the interests of our community in mind, we are working with the organizers of Shoppe Object to reschedule New York Market Week to October. The NY NOW Fall Edition will stage at the Javits Center on October 18–20, 2020, and Shoppe Object will stage at Pier 36 October 20–22. With the two shows overlapping, buyers will be offered a robust, convenient, and varied Market Week. We look forward to coming together face-to-face in October!
As we plan for October and beyond, please be assured that we will do our utmost to ensure the event is safe for everyone; our plan will be developed in consultation with the Javits Center and based on health and safety guidelines published by the CDC, WHO and relevant state governments. These guidelines are evolving and so will our approach.
We will also continue to monitor the availability of the Javits Center as it transitions from a hospital back to an exhibition venue. Please also be assured that the venue will undergo a thorough sanitization before it is re-opened for exhibitions. We will be in touch soon with more details about the NY NOW Fall Edition.
