NEW YORK, NY, January 30, 2015… Five companies participating in Home Textiles Market Week® in New York City were named winners of Home Textiles Best New Product Awards, with Australia’s Atolyia recognized as “Best of Market” for its hand-loomed Goat Hair Kilim. Four additional awards were presented in the bed, bath, dining and home accessories categories, and all five winners will compete for NY NOW’s “Best of HOME” Award, to be determined by online balloting at http://bit.ly/NYNOW_BNP_HOME during the Winter 2015 edition of NY NOW®, the Market for Home + Lifestyle, which runs Saturday, January 31, through Wednesday, February 4, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

A panel of trade and consumer editors selected winners and finalists based on criteria including innovation in design, creative use of materials/construction and new fiber, material or technology. The winners and finalists of the winter 2015 Home Textiles Best New Product Awards are:

BEST OF MARKET:
Atolyia
(Annandale, Australia) for its Goat Hair Kilim, which are hand-loomed in Turkey using traditional techniques and without using any dyes.

BED CATEGORY:
Winner: DownRight Ltd.
(Brooklyn, NY) for its Eliasa Eiderdown Collection, an eiderdown comforter with a flowering vine pattern cover made out of soft 100% silk jacquard.
Finalist: Filling Spaces (Portland, OR) for its Block Print Quilt.
Finalist: Fino Lino (Ocean Township, NJ) for its Reflection/ shimmer bed ensemble.

BATH CATEGORY:
Winner: Jiti
(Los Angeles, CA) for its Pacific Blue Towel Set. Sarong two-in-one beach towel set, which includes pillow.
Finalist: LinenMe (Chicago, IL) for its Washed Waffle Bath Linen.
Finalist: Antiochia™ USA LLC (Crofton, MD) for its Knidos Collection.

DINING CATEGORY:
Winner: The Artist’s Table
(Sebastopol, CA) for its Luxury Table Linens, printed on 100% Libeco Belgian Linen and finished in Sebastopol with fine satin thread and pulled edges.
Finalist: Busatti since 1842 (Anghiari, Italy) for its Fish on the Hook oversized kitchen towel.
Finalist: Walter G (Sydney, Australia) for its Sardines Indigo Napkin Set.

HOME ACCESSORIES CATEGORY:
Winner: Pehuén
(West New York, NJ) for its Caterpillar Throw, handwoven on looms with baby sheep and merino wool.
Finalist: Auskin® USA Inc DBA FIBER by Auskin (Golden, CO) for its Dame Laser Cut Hair on Cowhide Cushions.
Finalist: Jenny Krauss (New York, NY) for its 2-tone blues floral pillow.

“The Best New Product Awards highlight the very best the industry has to offer in terms of high design, fashion and salability,” said Danielle Giacoponello, NY NOW Home Furnishings + Textiles sales manager. “With representation from the across the United States, as well as internationally from Italy and Australia, our line-up of winners and finalists continues to showcase the incorporation of materials and design ideas from around the world.”

In addition to the NY NOW “Best of HOME” Award, which will be determined through online voting at http://bit.ly/NYNOW_BNP_HOME, “Peoples’ Choice” balloting runs January 31-February 3, and the winner will be announced on February 4, before the conclusion of the winter 2015 edition of NY NOW.

The panel of judges included: Duke Ratliff of HFN; Jennifer Marks of Home & Textiles Today; Jenny Heinzen York of Home Accents Today; Nancy Robinson of Home Fashion Forecast; and Wanda Jankowski of LDB Interior Textiles.

Presented as part of NY NOW’s HOME Collection, Home Furnishings + Textiles features 300+ suppliers of mid-to-high-end bed and bath fashions, such as table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics.
