WHITE PLAINS, NY, July 18, 2014… A first-time partnership between HGTV Magazine and NY NOW® will bring two brand new blogger-directed initiatives – HGTV Magazine’s Blogger Block Party and NY NOW’s Best Blog Competition – to the summer market, August 16 – 20, 2014, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94.

An all-day event, HGTV Magazine’s first-ever Blogger Block Party will include opportunities for bloggers to meet, craft, and share their experiences at an in-person event on Monday, August 18, from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at 404 STUDIOS, located at 404 10th Avenue between 32nd and 33rd Street just blocks from the Javits Convention Center. Sara Peterson, HGTV Magazine’s Editor in chief, and Scott McGillivray, host of HGTV’s Income Property and expert on HGTV’s new show, Flipping the Block (premiering July 20), will make personal appearances during the free event. In connection with this event, NY NOW is hosting its first “Best Blog Competition,” open to all bloggers who write about home, lifestyle and design. To participate, bloggers must publish a post about their visit to the summer 2014 edition of NY NOW. From August 16 to 20, NY NOW will re-publish the best posts on its 100DaysofDesign.com blog, encouraging readers to share the content through social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter. The blogger whose re-post gets the greatest number of Facebook likes and Twitter re-tweets will win a tour of the HGTV Magazine offices, and a personal meeting with HGTV Magazine Editor in chief, Sara Peterson.
