NEW YORK, NY. – August 22, 2016 – NY NOW®, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, in conjunction with HGTV Magazine announced today the winner of the “Best in Market” Award. The Design Dua Dog Bed by Design Dua received the recognition at the NY NOW summer 2016 market and is on display in booth #628 now through Tuesday, August 23rd, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
“I’m so excited about this award and it means so much to our group,” said Coretta Owusu, Founder, Design Dua. “This is our first time at NY NOW and we couldn’t have expected a better outcome. We can’t wait to be back!”
The Design Dua Dog Bed is a creative take on Bolgatanga style baskets. The beautiful baskets are hand woven with elephant grass and boast vibrant colors, and an inner cushion is placed inside each one, making a comfortable bed for pets.
The “Best in Market” Award recognizes one extraordinary product that stood out among the nine category winners of the “Best New Product” Awards*. This year, the nine category winners from the “Best New Product” Awards were evaluated by Kate Doherty, Market Director of HGTV Magazine, before a winner was selected.
“I’m thrilled to be NY NOW’s ‘Best in Market’ judge this year, and it is an honor to award Design Dua with this incredible recognition,” said Kate Doherty, Market Director of HGTV Magazine. “The competition was fierce this summer, and all of the products were innovative, bold and stylish. However, the Design Dua Dog Bed stood out to me because it combined two very different things – African baskets and dog beds – to create a beautiful, multi-colored pet accessory that will stand out in any room.”
