NY NOW is pleased to welcome Tradition Textiles to the winter 2019 market
White Plains, NY. – January 9, 2019 — NY NOW® is pleased to welcome Australian company Tradition Textiles which will be launching its 2019 range of merino wool scarves and throws at NY NOW for the first time, taking place February 3-6, 2019 in New York City. Since 2003, the co-founders of Tradition Textiles, husband and wife team Deborah Emmett and Riyaz Hakim, have delighted their wholesale customers throughout Australia and New Zealand with their quality merino wool designs. Now it’s time to bring their collection to NY NOW!
A new range of scarves is developed each year, woven from the finest merino wool and then printed with designs by Deborah Emmett. Inspired by her background in the visual arts, architecture, and the Australian landscape, she creates around sixty designs each year in varying colours and patterns. As Deborah says, “We are not afraid of colour! There are colours for everyone and the merino wool feels wonderful.” The light merino wool is warm while not bulky to wear. For 2019, larger shawl designs have been added to the collection although the scarves are already generous in size.
And for the home, Tradition Textiles has a range of woven Australian merino wool throws in geometric and paisley designs. The throws are woven in Kashmir, India using a special technique where the colours are reversed on each side of the throw. A great addition to the sofa or bed for a splash of colour, as well as a cozy companion.
Tradition Textiles takes a great deal of care in producing their scarves and throws. Deborah and Riyaz like to share the story behind their brand.
